Have you ever wondered how the most powerful object in our solar system came into existence? Or how amongst all the chaos of the early solar system our planet managed to form? Join us on this PIR Live Event as Dr. Christine Wilson from McMaster University talks us through new results from the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) located in Chile.
Dr. Wilson will introduce us to the electromagnetic spectrum and explain why certain wavelengths are best at detecting these events. In addition to discoveries of disks of gas and dust around young stars that are forming planets Dr. Wilson will showcase some her research groups findings using ALMA to detect a collision between two galaxies.
Join us to ask your questions and get answers LIVE! (Questions can be submitted live within the webinar window or emailed in advance to email@example.com.)
This webinar is intended for grades 7-12.
The duration of this webinar will be approximately 30-35 minutes.
